Comprehensive model of a nearly zero energy building that can be used as basis for an effective energy management system”, IEEE Int. Conf. Clean Electrical Power, ICCEP’2019, Otranto, Puglia, Italy, by N. Jabbour, et. al.

This paper investigates the problem of the modeling of the electric devices in a nearly zero energy building (nZEB), so as effective scheduling and programing of their operation can be attained by the energy management system. Photovoltaics (PVs) and wind turbines (WTs) as renewable energy sources (RES), a Li-ion battery energy storage system (ESS), a heat-pump (HP) for heating/cooling and several home appliances are considered in the nZEB microgrid system. The mathematical models of the above devices can be used to construct the integrated model of the whole nZEB microgrid system, that then can be used as basis for developing the energy management system. The feasibility and effectiveness of the mathematical model of
the nZEB is validated with several simulation results that are conducted with the Matlab/Simulink software.
